Aloevera
Aloe vera contains more than 90% water and a variety of active ingredients such as amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, glycoproteins, and carbohydrates. Its high water content makes it an excellent medium for liquid organic fertilizer, and its dissolved compounds serve as readily available nutrients for plants. During the fertilizer production process, the water content is significantly reduced, concentrating the active ingredients. Residual material from extraction can also be used as solid organic fertilizer due to its low water content.
The naturally occurring elements and compounds in aloe vera enrich the nutrient content and active components of this biofertilizer with seaweed & microbes, ensuring maximum benefit for plant growth and soil health, for example:

Seaweed
Seaweed is a vital ingredient in SUNLAND Biofertilizer with Seaweed & Microbes due to its rich and varied mineral content, providing a complete supply of micronutrients. It is also high in natural plant hormones (growth regulators) that stimulate both vegetative and generative growth.
Seaweed contains gelatin, which acts as a natural adhesive during spraying, ensuring the fertilizer is not easily washed away by rain. It also serves as an excellent medium for microbial growth, offering amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, and organic elements that enhance plant growth and soil fertility.
Seaweed extract fertilizer contains amino acids and microelements such as Cu, Fe, Zn, and Mg. It also includes polysaccharides like alginate and alginic acid, as well as plant growth regulators such as auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, and abscisic acid.
Key Benefits of Seaweed in Biofertilizer with Seaweed & Microbes
-
Enhanced root growth: Seaweed improves root development and nutrient absorption.
-
Natural chelation: Mannitol, a strong chelating agent in seaweed, increases the bioavailability of minerals by up to 7–10 times.
-
Improved soil structure and water retention: Alginic acid enhances soil structure, moisture retention, and aggregation — especially beneficial in sandy soils.
-
Stress resistance: Seaweed hormones help plants cope with drought, flooding, and temperature fluctuations. Gibberellic acid promotes germination and flowering, while cytokinins and abscisic acid regulate water use and stress response.
-
Improved crop quality: Seaweed extract boosts flowering, increases sugar content in fruit, and enhances post-harvest shelf life.
-
Microbial stimulation: Complex carbohydrates in seaweed stimulate soil microbes and improve nutrient uptake.
Humic acid
Humic acid enriches the soil with organic carbon and improves cation exchange capacity, making nutrients more available to plants. It also enhances soil fertility, structure, and microbial growth. As part of biofertilizer with seaweed & microbes, humic acid boosts nutrient absorption and soil health.
Humic acid is a complex organic substance with a molecular weight around 1,500. It contains multiple functional groups, including:
-
Carboxyl (-COOH) and phenol (-OH): Bind positively charged ions (cations) like heavy metals, forming stable organo-metallic chelates.
-
Quinone groups: Capture sunlight and convert it into usable energy for biological processes.
Effects of Humic Acid on Soil
Physical properties:
-
Increases vertical water movement and water retention, reducing erosion risk.
-
Enhances soil structure and aeration by forming stable aggregates, improving microbial activity.
-
Darkens soil color, increasing solar absorption and soil warmth.
Chemical properties:
-
Increases cation exchange capacity (CEC), improving nutrient retention and protecting nutrients from leaching.
-
Chelates heavy metals, reducing soil toxicity.
-
Raises pH in acidic soils by binding aluminum and preventing its harmful hydrolysis.
-
Prevents phosphate from binding to Fe and Al, improving phosphorus availability to plants.
Biofertilizer (Functional Soil Microorganisms)
Functional microorganisms are a key part of biofertilizer with seaweed & microbes, acting as both fermentation agents and soil fertility enhancers. These beneficial microbes improve nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, and production of plant growth regulators. They also compete with harmful pathogens, reducing plant diseases and boosting overall plant health and productivity.
Types of SUNLAND Functional Microorganisms
-
Rhizobium (Bradyrhizobium japonicum)
-
Azospirillum sp.
-
Bacillus subtilis
-
Aspergillus niger
-
Lactobacillus sp.
-
Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacteria (Pseudomonas putida)
More than 79% of the atmosphere contains nitrogen (N₂), which plants cannot use directly. Functional microbes such as Rhizobium, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, and Pseudomonas convert atmospheric nitrogen into forms plants can absorb. Rhizobium forms root nodules in legumes, while Azospirillum colonizes rice roots to enhance nitrogen fixation significantly.
These microbes also produce phytohormones such as auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, abscisic acid, and ethylene, which stimulate root and shoot growth, delay leaf aging, promote germination, and enhance drought tolerance and wound healing.
Phosphate Solubilization and Microbial Activity
Phosphorus (P) is the second most essential nutrient after nitrogen. However, much of it becomes bound in the soil and unavailable to plants. Functional microorganisms in biofertilizer with seaweed & microbes, such as Pseudomonas sp., Bacillus sp., and Aspergillus niger, dissolve bound phosphate, converting it into plant-available forms.
These microbes release low–molecular-weight organic acids (e.g., citric, oxalic, malic acids) that lower soil pH and chelate elements like Al³⁺, Fe³⁺, Ca²⁺, and Mg²⁺. This releases phosphate ions for plant uptake. They also produce enzymes such as phosphatase and phytase, which mineralize organic phosphorus into inorganic forms available to plants.
Aspergillus niger thrives at 35–37°C and produces citric acid to dissolve phosphate. It also acts as a biocontrol agent against pathogens like Podosphaera leucotricha.
Bacillus sp. enhances plant immunity and can act as a biopesticide, suppressing diseases like bacterial wilt in potatoes and tomatoes.
Plant Growth–Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR)
Plant Growth–Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), also known as rhizosphere plant growth stimulants, are beneficial bacteria that colonize the root zone (rhizosphere) and support plant growth directly and indirectly.
PGPR’s main functions in biofertilizer with seaweed & microbes include:
-
Biostimulants: Synthesizing and regulating plant growth hormones like indole acetic acid (IAA), gibberellins, cytokinins, and ethylene.
-
Biofertilizers: Fixing atmospheric nitrogen and dissolving bound phosphate in the soil.
-
Bioprotectants: Producing antifungal and antibacterial compounds (e.g., chitinase, β-1,3-glucanase, antibiotics, cyanide) to suppress soil-borne pathogens.
Common PGPR genera include Pseudomonas, Azotobacter, Azospirillum, Acetobacter, Burkholderia, and Bacillus. Their use reduces reliance on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, promoting environmentally sustainable agriculture.
Biodecomposer
Biodecomposers are microorganisms that break down organic material into simpler compounds, releasing essential nutrients back into the soil. They decompose nitrogen and carbon from dead plant and animal matter, accelerating mineralization and enriching the soil around the root zone.
Primary decomposers (mesofauna such as colembolla and acarina) break organic matter into smaller particles. Secondary decomposers (bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes) like Trichoderma reesei, T. harzianum, Pseudomonas, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium, and Streptomyces complete the breakdown, creating nutrient-rich soil.
Lactobacillus sp. plays a key role in decomposition by converting sugars into lactic acid, suppressing harmful microorganisms, and breaking down cellulose into simpler compounds. Its activity supports a healthier soil ecosystem and improves nutrient availability for plants.
SUNLAND Biofertilizer with Seaweed & Microbes combines the power of aloe vera, seaweed extract, humic acid, and functional microorganisms to create a complete solution for plant nutrition and soil health. It enhances nutrient uptake, boosts soil fertility, strengthens plant resilience, and promotes sustainable agricultural productivity.
